Have Breakfast. There is no better way to start your day than with a nice healthy breakfast, this will give you the energy to keep you going until lunchtime and avoid snacking throughout the day. Try eating foods that are high in fibre such as porridge and fruit, poached eggs on toast, granola and yoghurt.
Drink plenty of water. Even though you are sat at a desk all day it is still important to stay hydrated, make sure always keep a water bottle next to you, add sugar-free cordial or fruit if you would like some extra flavour. This will keep those headaches at bay from staring at a screen for long hours.
Take short breaks. Sitting down for long periods of time can have bad effects on your health including bad posture, weight gain and heart disease. Make sure to get up as often as you can, even if that is walking to the toilet or the kitchen just to stretch your legs.
Prep your lunch. It can be so easy to buy a microwave meal for your lunch at work as there is no preparation involved. However, ready meals are notorious for being high in salt and bad fats. Spending a little time at the beginning of the week to prep your meals could save a lot of money and is so beneficial to your health! Try roasted veg and chicken, homemade soups, salads and fish with rice.
Talk in person. Rather than bouncing emails back and forward between colleagues, why don’t go and speak to them in person? It gets you away from your desk and it’s nicer to be able to have an actual conversation with your fellow colleagues.
